Flying from the UK to Bulawayo
This page is for anyone in the UK working out how to get to Bulawayo, whether you are going home to family or travelling for another reason. Bulawayo's airport is Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo International Airport, code BUQ. The Airports Company of Zimbabwe, which operates it, says it was established as Bulawayo Airport in 1959 and later renamed. Each fact below comes from a named airline, airport or government page, and the sources section at the end gives the dates we read them. Where we could not read a page, we say so instead of guessing.
Which airlines list Bulawayo
Ethiopian Airlines lists Bulawayo as a destination on its international network page and has a fare page for Addis Ababa to Bulawayo. Its UK website also has fare pages for London Heathrow to Bulawayo and for Manchester to Bulawayo. A fare page is not a promise of a flight on your dates, and the pages we read name no hub, stops, schedule or journey time, so ask us what is available.
Air Zimbabwe lists Bulawayo on its domestic schedule from Harare. Its schedule page has two rows that include Bulawayo: Harare/Bulawayo/Victoria Falls on Friday, and Harare/Victoria Falls/Bulawayo on Sunday. The page gives days only, with no times, flight numbers or journey time, and it does not say whether each row is a separate flight or one multi-stop rotation. For that reason we do not state how often a flight serves Bulawayo from Harare, so ask us about your dates. Air Zimbabwe's pages present these domestic sectors as part of its own network and name no other operator for them.
We name only airlines whose own pages we could read. If another airline is on your list, message us and we will check it for your dates.
Air Zimbabwe's London service
Air Zimbabwe also lists a London Gatwick to Harare service, which our Air Zimbabwe London to Harare page covers. We do not state that this service connects with a Bulawayo flight, so ask us whether the two can be ticketed together on your dates. The operating-carrier notice under the airlines table relates to that London route, which Plus Ultra Líneas Aéreas operates on Air Zimbabwe's behalf. It does not describe the domestic sectors above.
Choosing a route
Our guide to flights to Bulawayo and Victoria Falls from the UK compares how people reach both places together, so this page does not repeat it. For Zimbabwe's capital, see Flights to Harare from the UK.

UK airports for Bulawayo
Ethiopian Airlines' UK website has fare pages for London Heathrow to Bulawayo and for Manchester to Bulawayo. If you live somewhere else, tell us your nearest airport and we will check the options.
Baggage on the way to Bulawayo
Air Zimbabwe lists a domestic allowance of 1 bag at 20 kg for Bulawayo. For its international flights, Air Zimbabwe lists 2 pieces at 23 kg each in Economy and 3 pieces at 23 kg each in Business, with no single piece over 32 kg. The domestic figure applies to a domestic flight on its own, and a through ticket takes the allowance printed on that ticket. If you are carrying gifts or extra bags, tell us how many before you choose a fare and we will compare allowances for you. Other airlines publish allowances by route and fare, so we confirm yours with your quote.
Entry requirements
Entry rules depend on your passport and can change, so we link to the official page instead of repeating them. Read the GOV.UK entry requirements for Zimbabwe before you book.
Where these figures come from
We read the airline and airport pages and checked the GOV.UK page on 26 October 2026.
