Planning a Christmas trip home to the Philippines
This page is for people in the UK who want to be in the Philippines for Christmas and are working out how to get there. It covers the practical side: which airlines to compare, what to think about before you pack gifts, what to have ready when you ask for a quote, and where to read the entry rules. For the full route facts, airports and sources, see our page on flights to Manila from the UK.
We are not publishing fares or booking claims on this page. Fares depend on your dates, your airport, the airline and the type of fare, so the most useful thing we can do is check them for you.
Airlines to compare
Three airlines publish one-stop journeys between London and Manila on their own pages, and the facts table above shows them.
- Singapore Airlines says every journey from the UK to the Philippines goes through a stopover in Singapore, and that it serves Manila from London and from Manchester.
- Turkish Airlines lists flights between London and Manila that connect in Istanbul.
- Emirates lists one-stop itineraries to Manila from eight UK airports. The pages we read do not name the stopover airport.
Qatar Airways also lists Manila through its hub in Doha, but its page names no UK airport. Airlines change their routes and schedules, so tell us your dates and your nearest airport and we will check what is flying.
Ask us about direct options
Want to know about direct options for your dates? Send us your dates and nearest UK airport on WhatsApp or through the contact form. We'll check what's available for your journey and include it in your free quote.
Think about baggage before you buy the gifts
A trip home often means carrying more than usual, so check the allowance before you shop. Emirates, Qatar Airways and Singapore Airlines each publish an economy allowance set by total weight, and it rises as you move to a higher fare type. Typically that is between 20 kg and 35 kg in total, and no single bag may weigh more than 32 kg. None of the pages we read names the Philippines, so your ticket is the final word on your own allowance.
Two practical points. First, compare the whole price of a fare with the baggage it includes, not only the headline fare. Second, if you expect to carry more than your allowance, tell us when you ask for a quote and we will compare your options. The facts table above shows the figures by airline and fare family.
What to have ready for a quote
Having these to hand makes a quote quicker to put together:
- the dates you want to leave and return, and whether they can move by a day or two;
- your nearest UK airport, and any others you would use;
- how many adults and children are travelling;
- how much luggage you plan to take;
- your preferred airline, if you have one.
If your plans might change, ask us what the fare conditions allow before you pay.
Entry requirements
Entry rules are set by the authorities and can change, so we link to them and do not repeat them. Read the GOV.UK entry requirements for the Philippines before you book, and check them again before you travel.
Where these figures come from
The read-on date for each source is shown beside the matching block in the facts table. The full list of sources is on the flights to Manila from the UK page.
Ask for your free quote check
